How we work
Resonate is our pioneering arts programme for older people living with dementia, providing a range of arts projects and hands-on creative opportunities for people at all stages of care from diagnosis onwards.
Devised by Westminster Arts in 2009, Resonate was initially developed to support the delivery of the National Dementia Strategy in London with a focus on the City of Westminster and since 2015 works accross the tri-borough area funded by the Central London, West London, and Hammersmith & Fulham Clinical Commissioning Groups and the City Bridge Trust, plus a range of trusts and foundations.
Our programme of activities range from group sessions in community settings to one-to-one interventions for people living in their own homes and at risk of isolation. We work accross the arts on projects such as music, visual arts, poetry, dance, performing arts and more. Activities are designed to enhance and compliment individual care plans, and help people to feel part of their wider community.
Referrals to our service
People are referred to the programme through a range of services including the Dementia Advisors, Memory Services, Admiral nurses, Community Mental Health Teams, outreach workers and voluntary organisations such as Open Age or Octavia Housing.
